The Microsoft UltraCam Systems is made up of a family of aerial cameras, ranging from the UltraCam Eagle, UltraCam Hawk, UltraCam Falcon, as well as UltraCam Osprey, a nadir/oblique photogrammetric digital aerial sensor.

A whole new breed of camera, the Microsoft UltraCam Osprey digital photogrammetric camera system combines a high performing photogrammetric nadir camera with oblique capture capability, offering a more versatile dataset than other oblique systems on the market today.

The UltraCam Osprey camera is designed so that the oblique and nadir images overlap. Oblique image cones are mounted rigidly in the camera with photogrammetric grade accuracy and are calibrated with respect to geometry and radiometry.

Enhanced by the oblique and nadir image overlap, the oblique image orientation can be further improved by automated tie point matching.
